Kick up your feet this afternoon and enjoy a cup of green tea. New research on the effects of green tea shows that regular consumption helps to increase antioxidant levels in people with metabolic syndrome.
Subjects were given either 4 cups of green tea, 2 capsules of green tea extract, or placebo for eight weeks. Compared to placebo, both the green tea drinkers and supplement takers had increased levels of glutathione and plasma antioxidant capacity.
