Those of you taking statin drugs for cholesterol may have been recommended to take CoQ10 along with it.  It is produced in our liver and is used by all of our cells.

There seems to be an age related decline in these levels and what consequences this can have on our health is being investigated.  A new study looked at critically ill patients versus a control group and their CoQ10 status.

They found that across a variety of critically ill patients, CoQ10 levels were lower than in controls.  The study authors believe there may be an association between illness and CoQ10 levels.
