New research suggests that resveratrol may change the metabolism in our fat cells.
Resveratrol is found is red wine and thought to be why the French have lower heart disease risk despite eating a high fat diet. Obese men were given either placebo or resveratrol (150mg/day) for one month.
Their fat tissue was biopsied to measure changes before and after the treatment. They found that resveratrol significantly reduced the size of fat cells.
