500mg Olive Leaf Extract twice daily lowered blood pressure nearly as much as the blood pressure drug captopril.  Olive Leaf dropped blood pressure 11 points while captopril lowered blood pressure 13 points.

In a different study, scientists linked the blood pressure lowering effects of olive leaf to its ability to block calcium channels,  a mechanism similar to conventional calcium channel blocking drugs commonly prescribed for high blood pressure.
