More and more research is coming out highlighting the importance of oral health.  A new type of oral probiotic has come to market with some exciting results.  These probiotics are specifically for your oral cavity, not your digestive tract.

A new research study looked at adults with recurring strep throat.  Half were given an oral probiotic, Streptococcus salivarius K12, for ninety days while the other half were used as controls.

When they followed up 6 months later they found the probiotic group had a 60% reduced incidence of strep throat compared to the control group.

Jarrow Formulas has this new probiotic available as a gum or lozenge.
