Magnesium insufficiency is related to many health concerns such high blood pressure, and leg cramps. When there is insufficiency in the brain, headaches, poor cognition and concentration, bad mood, poor sleep and nervousness can result, but the brain has a protection system called the blood brain barrier (BBB) which greatly restricts what crosses it. In 2010 researchers at MIT discovered that magnesium L-threonate (MgT) successfully transmits magnesium across the BBB through the interaction of L-threonate with glucose receptors which transmits magnesium in the blood into the brain’s neurons.  MgT has been shown to increase magnesium in cerebrospinal fluid in two weeks at three times less than the RDA. Researchers have found many benefits of magnesium L-threonate supplementation.

Sleep Quality

Multiple studies have linked magnesium insufficiency and poor sleep. 1 gram of MgT contributed to:

  • Improved sleep quality
  • Falling asleep faster
  • Improved time spent sleeping
  • Improvement of REM, and deep sleep
Mental-Emotional Health
  • In the brain magnesium acts as a cofactor for the creation of dopamine and serotonin and calms the brain.
  • 1.5 –2 grams of magnesium L-threonate improved stress, nervousness and fear.
Memory and Concentration
  • Improved IQ and attention
  • Better executive function, working memory and episodic memory
  • Improved mild cognitive impairment

CereMag combines Magnesium L-threonate with two other brain supporting forms of magnesium.

Magnesium Acetyl Taurinate crosses the BBB and delivers magnesium and taurine into the brain.

  • Neuroprotection • Memory support
  • Balanced Mood • Normal cell regenerative processes
  • Reduction in 20 PMS symptoms

The glycerol component of Magnesium Glycerolphosphate improved brain energy creation and  provides a vital component of neurological membranes.
