Olives: Fruit, Oil & Leaf!

You may love olive oil and know all about its health benefits, but have you heard of the benefits of olive leaf?  The leaf contains polyphenols which are currently being investigated for various health conditions.

A new study was done with overweight middle-aged men to see the effects on insulin sensitivity.  They were supplemented with olive leaf extract or placebo for 12 weeks.

At the end of the study they found that olive leaf extract improved insulin sensitivity by 15%.
