Secrets to a Successful Workout

The top reasons for not going to the gym are lack of time and confidence. While there is no supplement or trick to make more time in the day, there are a few things to minimize the dread that is associated to going to the gym.

  1. Make the Time: 48% of Americans say that there is not enough time in the day to do what they need to do. When it comes to longevity and quality of life, prioritizing time to turn off Netflix and head to the gym or do workouts during the latest episode can prove extremely beneficial to the aforementioned and boost self confidence. Challenge yourself this week to plan a day to wake up 10 minutes earlier and prioritize fitness.
  2. Support Muscle Repair: When someone pushes themselves at the gym, the common complaint is sore muscles the following day, commonly known as DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). This is due to microscopic muscle damage that forms new muscle as it is repaired. This tear-and-repair process requires inflammation, which can also contribute to extended pain. Wobenzym, has studied to balance the inflammatory response to this exercise-induced stress and damage. In addition, Magnesium studied to enhance recovery of blood glucose and decrease muscle soreness after strenuous exercise. Curcumin, the active molecule in turmeric, also supported reduction in muscle pain and recovery of muscle performance.
  3. Eat a Balanced Diet: It is no question that the molecules in food directly contribute to energy status. Consume a diet with moderate lean proteins, a variety of fruits and veggies and omega3/omega 9 fats commonly found in avocado, fish, nuts, and extra virgin olive oil.
