ADHD & Focus – Current Research

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is commonly diagnosed in children with impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity.  Daily motivation, timeliness, and productivity in adults are thought to be associated with this condition.  Diet is a significant factor in healthy brain function.

Contributing Factors Identified

While all the causes of ADHD are not yet fully understood, many influencing factors may play a role.  Some are genetic, while others are environmental.  These are some of the factors that may be supported.

  • Neurotransmitter production and stimulation by Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Serotonin, and GABA.  Genetics and low nutrient levels can influence lower production and receptor function, limiting these key body and brain neurotransmitters.
  • Nutrient Deficiencies that support normal molecule formation, function, reduced oxidation and increased antioxidant levels.
  • Chemical and Metal Toxins have shown increased risk of ADHD.
  • Digestive Issues, Food Allergies, and Inflammation are related issues.
Natural Molecules that Support Brain Health

Essential and beneficial nutrients form and support function of the brain.

  • Essential Nutrients: Multi Vitamin with vitamin D3, P5P B6, Methyl Folate and B12 and zinc/copper. Magnesium acetyl Taurate and/or Threonate.
  • Membrane Fatty Acids for healthy neuron communication are EPA and DHA, Phosphatidyl Serine and Polyunsaturated Phosphatidyl Choline.
  • Dopamine and Norepinephrine precursors can be found in single formula. 5HTP to support formation of serotonin. PharmaGABA.
  • Using the Body’s genetics to support Detox of Chemicals through the liver’s two phase enzyme system and Metals Detox through support of endogenous zinc dependent Metallothionein.  Comprehensive Formulas are available.
  • Antioxidant Pycnogenol sustained attention 13.4% and improved performance 8.9%.
  • Theanine improved Sleep.
  • Bacopa improved Learning, Function and Memory.
